My poetry manuscript El próximo desierto won the III Premio de Literatura “Ciudad y Naturaleza” José Emilio Pacheco.

I am extatic.

The award is sponsored by the Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara, the Universidad de Guadalajara, and the future Museo de Ciencias Ambientales, among other very prestigious organizations in Jalisco, Mexico. It recognizes literary works that address the issues of climate change and the Anthropocene from an interdisciplinary perspective combining art and science.

Here are the contest guidelines and here is the press release by Feria Internacional del Libro de Guadalajara announcing the verdict.

I will be accepting the award on December 1st, at 4:00 pm, at the Salón México II in the Hilton Hotel, in Guadalajara.

Thanks to Juan Mercerón from Libros del Fuego for the graphics above.

More details about the book coming soon!
